Upon scouring the kitchen this morning, much to my horror, I realized we'd run out of half n' half.
My initial reaction:  Disbelief.  Of course I have cream, I always have cream because if I don't then what happens to my coffee? The pretty white swirls?
Then, shock set in....  staring mindlessly into the refridgerator for maybe five, ten minutes, the brisk fridge-air finally brought me back to my senses.  I knew what I had to do.  Courageously, head held high, I continued on with my coffee making... sans cream. 
As a result, I am now drinking my coffee black. 
It's not bad.
